Difference between OCS certification and GOTS certification



The Organic Content Standard (OCS) is an international, voluntary standard that provides a chain of custody verification for materials originating on a farm certified to recognized national organic standards. The standard is used to verify organically grown raw materials from the farm to the final product.

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) has a clearly defined set of criteria and is transparent. GOTS is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibers, including ecological and social criteria, backed up by independent certification of the entire textile supply chain.

The difference between the OCS and Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is that GOTS has additional processing requirements that must be met, in addition to having a 70% minimum content percentage requirement and restrictions on other the fibers that are allowed to be blended.
